A new beginning emerges from chaotic destruction.
Witnessing a murder at the carnival he works for was a painful reminder of Zane Clearwater’s dark past. He had hoped that was all behind him but one look at the fear on his teen sister Lettie’s face and he’s right back in the thick of it. Even if it means jeopardizing his dream of becoming a police officer, he’s desperate to protect her at all costs.
Unfortunately, that may be harder than anticipated. Zane knew Lettie was a whiz with a computer, but he had no idea she was putting some of those skills to work on the dark web in questionable schemes that have landed her in serious trouble.
Zane has a slew of questions.
As do the police…and the FBI.
When Lettie takes off for California, Zane embarks on a journey of discovery that will test the limits of their unbreakable bond. Can he keep the promise he made to himself and protect Lettie? Or is this one mess she will have to face on her own?
Five stars. An intricately woven crime drama thriller with a lot of heart.
Lipinski returns with a gripping and well-paced follow-up.
Serpent Loop is first-rate fiction featuring crisp writing, depth of characterization, authentic dialogue and vivid settings along with well-researched insights into credit card fraud.
Rising mystery author Lynn Lipinski keeps it real in the second book of her Zane Clearwater Mystery series. Crime and poverty seem to go hand-in-hand, and Tulsa, Oklahoma, is no exception.
Lynn Lipinski on her mystery novel Serpent Loop
My first book Bloodlines came out in 2015 and I thought I was done with those characters, but during the coronavirus pandemic, I found myself writing the sequel, Serpent Loop, encouraged by a writing bestie from my master’s in fine arts for creative writing program. It was a comfort to return to Zane and Lettie’s world, even as I tossed explosive new criminal complications at them in this second installment.
Your support, your messages, your videos, your reviews, and your Zane Clearwater cosplay mean the world to me. I hope you enjoy Serpent Loop and I can’t wait to hear what you think.
